Substitute teaching
Wow... what a day... This morning mom woke me up a little after 6:30 because Mr. Hanson had just called and he needed a substitute teacher at 7:30 this morning. well the school is a little over a half an hour away so I had NO TIME. Well I got ready and left and headed out to Triton... In the morning I taught fifth grade. The current way students have decided to torture substitutes is to pretend to have a cold... So my first class used almost a whole box of kleenexes blowing their nose...ok it wasn't that bad but I didn't really know what to do because blowing their nose is a legit body function but enough is enough...Well as the day went on and EVERY class did the same thing I began to wonder if they talked in the halls about how they were going to torture a sub... They were so consistent. If I had stayed much longer I could have predicted what the next misbehavior was going to be. Well in the afternoon I taught eighth grade English. The teacher had left me a note indicating that I would probably have to send someone down to the office to make an example so the other students would behave....so I was a little scared. But really the student's were pretty good. They tried to get away with stuff at the beginning and I told them no so within the first 5-10 minutes they were all hard at work...Wow...well I am going back on Wednesday to spend a half day at the HS and a half day at the middle school...
